A nurse came into the room checking on her mother. The nurse- whose name Sydnee could really care less about, was all smiles and perky chatter. It made Sydnee want to bash her in the head with something very heavy. Sydnee could picture it in her head, the nurse's shock and the blood that would begin to drizzle down the nurse's head. The blank look in the nurse's eyes several hours later- when she was good and dead. It would have been a sick satisfaction that Sydnee had to re-frame from. Her hands itched to grab an object, and her eyes roamed the room to look. But she would not, she told herself, give herself away like this. She was needed for much bigger schemes, and this one murder- should she commit it- would set her behind. It would force her to run, for surely there would be no way she could get away with it. Not really bothering to clear her thoughts from the intoxicating plans, Sydnee gave the nurse what she knew was a innocent smile. " Thank you for caring for my mother." She said to the nurse, all the while making a mental note that when she was able this nurse would be on her to kill list. She would be right underneath her mother and father's name. Oh, Sydnee could barely wait for this day to come.
When the nurse finally left Sydnee alone with her mother, Sydnee took a seat on the uncomfortable chair that was left beside her mother's bed. The room was silent, all except for machines that seemed to be hooked up into her mother. Sydnee didn't know what she was suppose to do there, it wasn't as if her mother was even awake. Apparent, the night before her mother had done herself some major harm, and been put to sleep- of course it just couldn't be the type of sleep that people put animals to Sydnee's dismay. Maybe if they had, she wouldn't have had to be there right then. Sydnee had thought about what her father had told her to do before he had left her there. ' Just talk to her as you would talk to me.' He had told her, happy that his daughter was finally agreeing to see her mother. Although, Sydnee wouldn't have called it agreeing when he pretty much was forcing her to be there. For five minutes, Sydnee just sat there, moving her left foot in a rhythm much similar to the one she had been tapping her foot too when she had first arrived in her mother's room.
Sydnee looked at the clock on the wall. Twenty more minutes. It took all of Sydnee's will power not to sigh with frustration. There was no use for it when the only person in the room wasn't even awake to acknowledge it. Instead, Sydnee began to pass the time looking at her nails, in slow detail. When she was sure there was no dirt underneath them, and they looked as perfect as she was going to be able to get them here in the hospital, Sydnee looked back up at the clock. Six minutes had past. Clearly frustrated, she stood up and began walking around the room. In fourteen minutes, she would be able to leave, she told herself. Just fourteen minutes of sheer boredom with a person she really just didn't care about. Sydnee just barely stopped herself from muttering to herself, thinking that if someone where to hear her they would probably stick her in here with her mother. The idea alone was enough to keep Sydnee in line. The next time Sydnee looked up at the clock, it was time to go. She couldn't contain her sigh of relief. Finally, she could leave.
Sydnee turned to the door and was about to leave, but before she could step out the door, a soft, gentle, voice called out rather shakily. Her mother, it seemed was finally awake. " Who are you?", her mother asked. It was a great reminder of how her mother had not been in her life the past several years. Her mother probably only remembered her daughter as the young girl she had left behind before she was stuck in here. Sydnee was not that little girl though. She had grown up, was on her very last semester of Hogwarts, and had a goal in life. Wizards would reign in over the muggles, or she would die trying. Her mother knew nothing of this though. Sydnee turned her head over her shoulder, " I'm the woman who will kill you one day." She promised her mother, turned and left. Smiling as she heard her mother starting to scream. There was no way Sydnee had really thought about her words before she had spoken, but it didn't matter to her right now. It wasn't illegal to make promises, now was it? As she walked down the hall, she could hear a nurse trying to calm her mother down, trying to explain that there was no person out there who wanted to kill her. That the only person who had been in the room had been her daughter, Sydnee Ambra. The nurse made her mother false promises of being safe here.
Sydnee walked out of the hospital, thinking she would have to wait for her father to actually arrive to pick her up. But thankfully, he was there waiting for her, eager to hear about her time with her mother. So Sydnee told him lies, about how she and her mother had talked, although, Sydnee told her father rather sadly, she had done most of the talking because her mother was not awake. She promised her father that she would see her again soon, but she knew deep down inside that the next time she would see her mother would be the last time her mother would ever draw breathe again.
