For centuries, the nobal families of the ton have always held themselves higher then everyone else. They hold their noses up at the poor and laugh at those who have to work in order to live. But the Duke of ( you fill in here ) always thought of himself as different on the matter of the poor. He resepected their hard work, though he didn't actually speak to any of them, seeing as how he was a Duke and it would ruin his reputation. He was all about following the rules he was forced to live by, the rules a Duke had to live by.
Then England went to war. Deciding, unlike most in his position, to fullfill his duty by joining the war, the Duke has returned home scared by his experinces. After months of solitude, the duke's mother has decided to employ a young Lady for a champion, hoping that the Lady's presence would edvientually bring her son back from his daze.
Though the Lady was from a respectble family, she had fallen upon hard times, what with both parents dying so suddenly and leaving her in charge of her younger sister. Though they had enough money to up tain living in a small cottage and have food on the table, the Lady wished for her sister to have more. To have that chance at a London season she herself had never had the chance to have.
Will the lady be able to fullfill the Dowager Duchess' wishes, or is all hope lost in the regard of the Duke?
