GENERAL RULES
----------------------------------- rules in general are simple to follow. please make sure you follow the rules. yes this is a rule about following rules.
when you register, please register with the name you want to be called here. if you want another character, use the same name as well as a number at the end. this way we can better keep track of all your characters and whose who.
you will probably here this alot in here, but it does need to be said often because some people like to play meany pants. you are to show each staff member, member, guest with respect. we are all here to have fun, and insulting and being mean to others is not a fun time. follow the golden rule your mama's taught ya: if ya ain't got nothin' nice ta say, d'an don't say anythin'.
while it is certainly acceptable for characters to fight, please don't bring it out of character. all ooc fights should be dealt with in private. no one wants to see people trying to tear each other apart. ooc fighting scares away members, and we all want members don't we.
if you spam my site, be assured, i will spam back. it is considered an insult if you post your sites ad anywhere but the advertising board. this also includes chatboxes and private messages. don't post in the chatbox for people to join your site, and do not private message people asking to join. use common sense when trying to advertise.
graphics should be kept tasteful. proboards has a rule against pornography, and so do i. make sure your graphics are at least covered and not nude.
i will not set a rule on the size of your graphics. just know this, if you stretch my forum, your graphic will be removed.
do not ask to be on the staff. i have to trust my staff completely. when i do, i ask them to join staff. if and when i put a staff request thread, feel free to apply there.
IC POST RULES
----------------------------------- godmoding|auto hitting, is a roleplaying sin, doesn't matter what the site, this is frowned on. this is the act of controling another person's character, be in in battle or anything else. if you need a further description of what this is, perhaps this is not the site for you.
this is a literate site. this does not mean advanced literate. we ask that your posts be no shorter than three hundred words. this is reasonable and equals about two paragraphs generally.
i am going to assume that we all know that you should post all in character posts in third person. this should be a given. you are not telling a story about yourself, but about your character. remember that please.
mary-sues and gary-sues will be shot upon sight. absolutely no one is perfect, not in real life, and not in role playing world. everyone has flaws, so make sure your character does too.
while i do ask for flaws, please don't give your character overwhelmingly sad pasts. not everyone has been abused, abandoned etc... be realistic please.
if your character is too much like another character already on the board, your character will not be accepted, you will be asked to make changes, be ready for that.
do not steal another person's character. if you didn't create the character, but were given permission to play the character, you shoud let me know. as for canons, well canons are copy righted to their original maker.
you are to complete the application before you post anywhere else. you must wait for a staff member to approve you. once you have been approved make sure to make your claims.
yes playing girls is fun, but we need to keep numbers even. don't make all your characters be female. make some males! i'll give you cookies if you do!
if you want to murder your character, make your pregnant, or anything like that, you must have my permission. you should pm me with the what and the why.
i don't care how many threads your in, just be aware of the time line. you can't be in two places at the exact same time.
have seprate accounts for each of your characters. remember the rule about what your account username should be.
accents are fun to use. say if your character was southern, you'd use southern words and what not. for instance: " I'd love to sit here with you." would be " Ah'd love ta sit he'e with ya, sugah"
if you so dear to use chatspeak language, i will have to smack you. it is highly annoying. there is a difference between chatspeak and accents. use common sense in this area please. i don't want to have to get my sister to try and translate what you are saying to me.
your display name should be in all capital letters. first middle and last name.
POWER RULES
----------------------------------- one of the most important thing about having super powers is remembering that there is always going to be someone stronger than your character. this goes without saying. there is always, in realife or roleplaying world, someone who can put a whooping on your butt.
your powers should be unquie. don't just have a power because everyone else does. thats boring. shake things up a little. telepaths, telekintics can get so boring! try comeing up with a new power!
all powers have strengths and weaknesses. please make sure you include these, they will be asked to have. this goes back to the someone is bigger than you rule.
VAMP RULES
----------------------------------- vampires do not sparkle when they are in the sun. this goes without saying. yes i like twilight, but lets face it, we all know vampires just don't sparkle. they burn to a crisp.
do not make your vampire character based off twilight please. this is not a twilight site and there for shouldn't be used to make characters. i want real vampires here.
yes vampires drink blood. no your vampire shouldn't drink out of a bag. what real vampire would? drink it out of a glass or something.
while i did say no twilight based vampires, your character can drink just animal blood. thats fine. but not everyone is just going to drink animal blood. remember that.
vampires don't turn into bats. at least not here. yeah they can take what can be thought of as flight, but is more like floating. they just move so fast!
not all vampires are stunningly beautiful. remember, a vampire is trapped at a certain age with a certain look. not everyone looks beautiful.
Heightened senses, superhuman strength, moving at like the speed of light, yes. these are things vampires can do.Maniuplate their pray, duh. control minds, telepathic ablilites, well no. simply no.
remember to be aware of godmoding. as vampire characters that could be hard, just keep it in mind.
if a vampire bites your character please send me a pm with the link to the thread. i will decide if your character turns or not. this is so we do not get a overwhelming crowd of vampires.
WOLF RULES
----------------------------------- if you have ever seen blood and chocolate, well these are the kinda were-wolves i like to see. real wolves. not the kind from underworld. this is in looks.
were-wolves can change at any given time, however it is much harder for them to change when it is not a full moon. because of this, most avoid changing without the full moon. it is a painful process, the full moon seeming to help with the pain.
were-wolves are strong, not as strong as vampires, but pretty close to it. they have heightened senses. this should be a given.
wolves in general run in packs, and so should the were-wolves. a pack will always follow the alpha male. to gain this title you pretty much have to kill the first one, or beat him so badly he runs and hides.
like vampires, being a were-wolve might cause you to forget about not godmoding or autohitting, but please keep this in mind.
if a were-wolve bites you, scratches you, whatever, throughout the game, please contact me with a link to the thread. i will decide if you are actually turned or not. this rule is so that we don't have a overwhelming crowd of were-wolves.
OOC POST RULES
----------------------------------- getting to know your fellow members is fun and important. it makes a site feel more like a family when you know who your roleplaying with. as many know, not all family members get along. i don't expect everyone to like everyone. just to respect each other, as i have mentioned before earlier.
play as many games as you want, just don't be playing them to boost up your post count. if you know fun games don't keep them to yourself, please share! shareing is caring and it can be fun.
don't forget that this is a roleplaying site. don't spend all your time in the out of character sections. remember that other people are waiting for you in the roleplaying areas.
don't make a thread that will just end up with everyone yelling and fighting at each other. it will be deleted with no questions asked.
i use the out of character threads to help me with the spotlight areas, as well as the actual rping threads. this is to see who truely deserves the spotlight. just because your name isn't on the spotlight doesn't mean your not important, however these people seemed to stand out. besides spotlights will change fairly often and you may end up on the next one.
CHATBOX RULES
----------------------------------- the chatbox is a previlage, not a right. you break the rules and it can and will be taken down faster than my uncle joe can scarf down a twelve pack of beer.
do not advertise in the chat box. its okay to put a link in your email area but don't go around asking for people to join your site. remember i spam back.
don't scare away the members by being rude to each other. horse play is fine, its when things start to get too serious and start to explode. guests look at the chatbox to see the activity of a site as well as to see how the members are. if they are nice or not.
if a guest is being rude, please ignore them. do no agrue back, it looks bad on us. just tell them if they have a problem to take it up with me. say no more than that though. carry on the way you were before the guest. inform me if this happens please, only through a PM, wouldn't mind all those involved to send me what was said, that'd be great. not really required, just nice.
ACTIVITY RULES
----------------------------------- if you join this site that means you are committing to playing it out. do not just sign-up and vanish.thats just rude. if you sign up and realize this isn't the kind of site for you, then just delete your account silently.
i expect everyone to post at least three times a week in the role playing area. sites go dead because people don't keep up with the posting.
you have exactly three days to get your application finished after applying,. if for some reason you are unable to do this, please inform me that way i don't ban your account for 32 days and lock the thread up, which is what i do to thosee who don't finish. i don't ask questions on this.
activity checks are random and i require you to respond to them. if you dont, your account will be put on a ban for seven days. activity checks will be announced through mass emails and pms, so there is no reason why you would miss it.
